Teaching Staff - Aranui
Teacher Room 4
My name is Kylie Wells and am born and bred in Morrinsville. I came through Morrinsville Intermediate and College before gaining my Bachelor of Education through Massey University in Palmerston North. I then returned back to my home town where I taught for nearly 7 years at David Street School before marrying a local and having my own two beautiful girls. I went on to teach locally in a variety of roles and have spent the past 7 years teaching at Springdale School.
I am actively involved in many aspects of our beautiful town, particularly in sports where I play basketball, volleyball and netball. My children currently attend David Street School and my step-son attends Morrinsville College. When I am not teaching your wonderful children I am normally outdoors with my whanau enjoying bushwalks and bike riding. I love to participate in adventure races and team events with friends and enjoy challenging myself and my students to try new things and give everything their best effort.
This is my third year teaching at Morrinsville Intermediate and my first year as Team Leader for Aranui
Feel free to pop in to Room 4 and introduce yourself, I look forward to meeting you.
Teacher Room 5
My name is Reuben O’Sullivan and I am now in my second year teaching at Morrinsville Intermediate School.
I was raised in Edgecumbe in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, before moving to Ireland where I lived for four years, finally ending up in Morrinsville by 2010. Here I attended the college and later the University of Waikato, studying a Bachelor of Teaching.
I have spent many years leading at kids holiday camps, and for the last four years I have been actively involved locally as a Youth Worker at my church. I am very passionate about seeing youth reach their potential, overcome challenges, and do well in life.
My interests include music, performance, woodworking, hiking, water skiing, travel, and language.
I look forward to meeting you.
Teacher Room 6
My name is Amanda Mawhinney, this is my first year of teaching and I am excited to be at Morrinsville Intermediate School.
I grew up in West Auckland, but have lived in Hamilton for almost nine years. I completed the Bachelor of Teaching at Waikato University, my final practicum was at David Street School so am glad to see some familiar faces across the school.
I am an enthusiastic teacher who is looking forward to all the learning opportunities M.I.S has to offer in and outside of the classroom.

I have very fond memories growing up in the Piako district as a child. Upon returning 13 years ago, I have loved raising my whanau in Morrinsville. I believe our small district has many great things to offer.
My husband and I are both highly involved in the sporting community and enjoy seeing children flourish within sports. I have had the pleasure to be involved in Basketball, Netball, Dragon Boating, Waka Ama, Touch rugby and Ballroom Dancing over my years.
I am honoured to be a teacher at Morrinsville Intermediate School as well as working alongside such a dedicated staff.
I look forward to meeting with you all.
