Gavin Craw

Kia ora koutou,

My name is Gavin Craw, and I am very much looking forward to joining the team at Morrinsville Intermediate. I’m excited to meet our students, connect with whānau, and become part of this school community.

I bring many years of teaching experience to this role and have had the privilege of working with students across a range of settings. Alongside my teaching career, I also have a background as a qualified automotive mechanic, which has given me a strong appreciation for practical learning, problem-solving, and the value of perseverance—skills I aim to encourage in the classroom every day.

Outside of school, I’m a very active person and enjoy participating in a variety of sports. I play badminton and cricket, enjoy snow and water skiing, and have recently taken up go-kart racing, which has been a fun new challenge. I also love the outdoors and spend as much time as possible hiking, camping, biking, and exploring with my family.

I am married, have four children, and share our home with three dogs, so life is always busy and full of energy! Being a parent myself helps me understand the importance of creating a supportive, safe, and encouraging environment where students feel confident to be themselves and take risks in their learning.

I am passionate about working alongside students to help them build confidence, develop independence, and strive for excellence—both academically and personally. I look forward to supporting each student on their learning journey and contributing positively to the Morrinsville Intermediate community.
