My favourite quote is ‘Life is a journey, not a destination’ and in my teaching career I can honestly say that I have been on an incredible journey of learning many new things and I am still learning.
I am passionate about teaching, particularly Literacy, Maths, and The Arts. During my time here at Morrinsville Intermediate I have been fortunate to have made many life-long friends, have enjoyed working alongside some great teachers, experienced two school exchange trips to Japan and one to Noumea and I thoroughly enjoy teaching a great bunch of students from the Morrinsville area.
I look forward to meeting with you all.

I have very fond memories growing up in the Piako district as a child and I have loved raising my whanau in Morrinsville. I believe our small district has many great things to offer.
I are both highly involved in the sporting community and enjoy seeing children flourish within sports. I have had the pleasure to be involved in Basketball, Netball, Dragon Boating, Waka Ama, Touch rugby and Ballroom Dancing over my years.
I am honoured to be a teacher at Morrinsville Intermediate School as well as working alongside such a dedicated staff.
I look forward to meeting with you all.

Acting Team Leader Topehaehae
Malo e lelei,
My name is Alana Tissingh, and I was born and raised in Morrinsville. I am a past student of MIS and am super excited to return as a teacher.
I have taught at Morrinsville School and Stanley Avenue School in Te Aroha for 7 years before having my daughter. I have just finished up teaching at Peachgrove Intermediate in Hamilton to come back and teach closer to my family.
Being brought up around playing different sports and outdoor activities, I enjoy bringing this passion into my teaching. I feel that learning should be fun and hands-on, which is something I strive towards in my classroom.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my daughter and family either in the backyard or at the beach.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know you all.

Team Leader Waitakaruru
Kia Ora, my name is Shane Day; I have lived in Waikato for a big part of my life. I have two daughters, one attends Morrinsville College and the other in her first year at University. I have been teaching for over 20 years, previously teaching at Berkley for ten years.
A strength I bring to the classroom is building positive relationships with my students and developing the skills to manage their own behaviour and learning. My greatest joy as a teacher is watching students' confidence and self-belief grow. I encourage my students to discuss, share opinions and express their ideas. I take pride in creating a classroom environment where students are engaged in many learning opportunities while allowing students to flourish as individuals.
I look forward to meeting you all.

Kia ora, my name is Bailee!
I was born in Hastings but made the shift to the mighty Waikato when I was four years old. I then grew up in Te Aroha and later attended The University of Waikato where I studied a Bachelor of Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts. I have been a teacher at Morrinsville Intermediate since the beginning of 2018. Over the years I have had many different roles across the school, I love the variety that comes with my diverse position! I currently teach Robotics, release homeroom teachers and am the leader of the specialist team.
